The Morning Hangover - He Got Good Wood On It Chatter

MLB: Yankees 9, Twins 6. "I knew he got good wood on it." No, that's not a quote from Madonna regarding a night with A Rod or his solo homer in the 12th inning last night, it was Mariano Rivera describing Delmon Young's three run bomb in the eighth to tie the game. Coincidentally, "I knew he got good wood on it" is also what Matt Guerrier mumbles after every pitch he makes to an opposing player.

NFL: Brad Childress on how long safety Madieu Williams will be out of action because of a neck injury: "I'm not clairvoyant." Childress went on to say he had a "pretty good idea" of when the injury occurred but wouldn't go into detail. You're not fighting some secret Guerilla War, Chili. Secrecy regarding an injury to a guy on a football team isn't going to benefit you in any regard. This is football, not the Iran-Contra affair.
